You guys know how I feel about wallpaper, so obviously this stopped me. 😂

But what I really love is the view into the room. That little peek of blue pattern, the red, the art above the doorway… it makes you curious about what’s around the corner.

I’m always thinking about those sightlines in my own designs. too. Your rooms don’t exist in isolation. What you see from one should make you excited to walk into the next.

Kitchen renos are ALWAYS top of mind for me. Because I’m currently somewhere between moving to the countryside with sheep LOL and asking my landlord if I can demo my kitchen. Who, BTW, loves when I do updates. No really.

And apparently you guys are in the same place because every time I post a kitchen… the engagement. You have THOUGHTS.

How do you feel about animal print? Or animal motifs… really, anything animal in a room? Because I LOVE them. I have Seamus the sheep and Lady Arabella, my peacock, who I literally bought for myself as a birthday gift. So… clearly I have a type. And then I saw these flats with embroidered tigers on the toes, currently in my cart. So a new trend in fashion and home decor emerging? But … you know I don’t really do trends. And actually, I don’t think this is one. Animals have been part of design forever. Humor, personality, a little weirdness… all the things that keep a room from feeling too perfect.

Did you know you can just… buy a vanity? You are NOT stuck with the one that came with your house. I forget people don’t know this!

And vanities are kind of make-or-break for me in a bathroom. Where is ALL your stuff going? Do you have enough counter space? Does the stone show every single water spot? Are you going to be wiping toothpaste off of it 14 times a day? These things matter!

And obviously, I want it to be beautiful. Give me the gorgeous stone, the pretty hardware, the little furniture details… but I also need somewhere to put my hair dryer.

That’s the balance. Beautiful, but designed for how you actually live!

If a room feels off and you can’t figure out why, LOOK AT THE WALLS.

I love a tapestry, on a huge wall where you keep adding things and it STILL feels empty. At some point, you don’t need more art. You need scale.

And then you get all this texture and softness… which, BTW, also absorbs sound. I know. Such a random thing to get excited about, but in a big dining room? It matters. One giant beautiful tapestry. Problem solved.

Amelie. She is 100% one of my favorites. She lives in my own home, and trust me when I say I have tested the quality, comfort, AND durability. Soccer balls, running jumps, pasta sauce… and I’ve had her in multiple fabrics and styles at this point.

She can look beautiful enough for an editorial and then survive my kids five minutes later. Which matters.

And she looks soooo good in any space. Loving her here in ’ home.

Sometimes the chair is just the starting point.

Give me a beautiful floral, take the fabric all the way to the floor, add a really good gathered skirt… NOW we’re talking.

I love that you can have a beautiful, sophisticated room and then… a dog staring at you from the wall. Or a sheep. Or a peacock.

Not everything in a room needs to be so serious. Give me the beautiful sofa, the antique chest, the gorgeous rug… and then give me a slightly ridiculous dog portrait. That’s the good stuff.

I have a very specific idea of who lives here.

She drinks her coffee out of the good china every morning, has VERY strong opinions about antiques, and somehow knows exactly where to find the ones you spend your entire trip looking for lol.

Anyway… come inside. I have a feeling you’re going to like her living room.
