Classic Spaghetti with Juicy Meatballs
Ingredients:
- 400 g spaghetti 🍝
- 500 g ground beef 🥩
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg 🥚
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 small onion, finely chopped 🧅
- 2 cups tomato sauce 🍅
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese 🧀
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil 🌿
- Fresh basil leaves for garnish
- Salt and pepper to taste
Directions:
1. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, half of the garlic, salt, pepper, and Parmesan cheese. Mix well and form into small meatballs.
2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 8-10 minutes.
3. Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same pan, sauté onion and remaining garlic until soft and fragrant.
4. Pour in the tomato sauce, add oregano and basil, and let simmer for 10 minutes.
5. Return the meatballs to the sauce and simmer for another 15 minutes until fully cooked and tender.
6. Meanwhile, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain well.
7. Plate the spaghetti and generously top with meatballs and rich tomato sauce.
8. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and extra Parmesan cheese for a delicious finish 😋
