Roasted Garlic Potatoes au Gratin Recipe
Ingredients:
4 large russet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced ๐ฅ
1 tbsp olive oil ๐ซ
5 cloves garlic, minced ๐ง
1 1/2 cups heavy cream ๐ฅ
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese ๐ง
1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese ๐ง
2 tbsp unsalted butter ๐ง
Salt and pepper to taste ๐ง
Fresh thyme or parsley for garnish (optional) ๐ฟ
Instructions:
Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC). Grease a 9x9-inch baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
Prepare the Garlic: In a small skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant. Be careful not to burn it. Set aside.
Make the Cream Mixture: In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream over medium heat until warm, then stir in the cooked garlic. Season with salt and pepper.
Layer the Potatoes: Arrange a layer of potato slices at the bottom of the baking dish. Pour a little of the cream mixture over the potatoes and top with a sprinkle of cheddar cheese. Repeat the layers, finishing with a generous amount of cheese on top.
Bake: Dot the top with butter and cover the dish with foil. Bake for 45-50 minutes, or until the potatoes are tender.
Add the Final Touch: Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the top is golden brown and bubbly.
Garnish and Serve: Let it cool for a few minutes before garnishing with fresh thyme or parsley. Serve warm and enjoy!
