Seitel Lighting is Hiring Employees for the 2017 Event Season:
Compensation is $20 / hour

Seitel Lighting, a special events lighting design company based in North Adams, Massachusetts and serving all of Berkshire County, seeks well-qualified part-time employees for the 2017 special events season.

Employees will join owner Julie Seitel at jobsites throughout Berkshire County to install, operate, and deinstall lighting equipment in barns, event tents, museum galleries, industrial spaces, and other locations.

Employees will be offered work shifts during the periods of May 19th through July 5th and August 21st through October 25th, and occasional dates outside those ranges. Employees need not commit to working every day but should be able to work at least 4 or 5 days of each week in this period (including Saturdays and Sundays).

This is an ideal job for artists, writers, musicians, and other creatives whose schedules are flexible and who desire some weeks or months of well-compensated outside work to supplement their earnings in their primary fields.

Qualifications:
• Strong work ethic
• Reliability
• Ability to work independently on projects after receiving initial instruction
• Dedication to workplace safety and strict adherence to Company policies in this regard
• Strong sense of aesthetics
• Capable of performing physical labor, including lifting at least 30 lbs. (more strength is good but we "team lift" to save our knees and backs)
• Comfortable working on stepladders and extension ladders
• Your own vehicle for transportation to jobsites (gas reimbursement available)
• At least two professional references (previous or current employers)

Desirable skills:
The following types of professional experience are desirable but not required for employment. All employees will receive on-the-job training.
• Theatrical lighting and rigging
• Commercial or residential electrical work
• Art fabrication and installation
• Carpentry and/or metalworking
• Aerial work platform operation (mast lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts)
• Experience with power tools

Compensation:
Seitel Lighting pays $20/hour to well-qualified employees. Most employees will be classified as W-2, with all wages reported and taxes withheld as required by law.
Other benefits include:
• Overtime pay after 40 hours
• Worker's Compensation
• Matching payroll contributions (Seitel Lighting contributes the same amount that you do to your Medicare and Social Security)
• Reimbursement of fuel expenses for use of personal vehicle
• On-the-job training

How to Apply:
Interested applicants should send an email with resumé (or a thorough verbal description of qualifications and experience), contact information, and at least two professional references to:

The first wedding in MASS MoCA's newly renovated Building 6. Eliza and Jaryd's lighting design featured more than a hundred vintage-style light bulbs with shiny copper sockets suspended over the guest tables. Rentals by Classical Tents and Party Goods. Catering by Mezze Catering + Events. Flowers by Crocus Hale. Music by The Colbys Band. All these fantastic photos are courtesy of the excellent Mitch Wojnarowicz Wedding Photographer. My first gig with Mitch, hopefully first of many. Always great to work with Rebecca Wehry and Larry Smallwood at MassMoCA.
