As the days stretch long and the sun reaches its annual peak, Echoes of the Solstice invites artists to explore the rhythms, rituals, and radiance of summer through a cultural lens.

This exhibition centers the rich tapestry of experiences found across Black, Brown, global communities and diverse backgrounds during this season—where liberation, identity, and culture converge. We honor the legacy of Juneteenth, the vibrancy of Pride Month, and the stories uplifted during Caribbean Heritage Month. We also recognize summer as a time of ancestral connection, celebration, and collective memory through:
• Cookouts and family reunions
• Block parties and festivals
• Diaspora traditions that echo across oceans and generations
• Cultural holidays like Eid al-Adha, Inti Raymi (Festival of the Sun in Andean cultures), and Canada Day (highlighting Afro-Caribbean contributions)

Echoes of the Solstice calls for work that reflects warmth, freedom, togetherness, and the sensory magic of summertime—whether that’s the sizzle of a grill, the rhythm of drums on pavement, or the glow of fireflies as the community gathers.

This exhibition is a celebration of everything that comes alive in us and around us when we’re held by sunlight, music, memory, and each other.

The submission deadline has been extended to July 12 at 11:59 PM EST. We encourage all artists to take advantage of this extra time to finalize and submit their work.

Unfettered Dreams is an exploration of liberation, resilience, and the boundless nature of human expression. To be “unfettered” is to be free from the constraints of society, history, and self-doubt. This exhibition brings together artists whose work embodies the pursuit of dreams without limits, honoring the spirit of perseverance and the beauty of unrestrained creativity.
