This week’s YouTube episode takes me to Wool Worth Wool Worth , an adorable yarn shop in Callicoon, New York, for a trunk show! I’ll take you along for the day, give you a little tour of the shop, and catch you up on what I’ve been working on this summer, including one WIP in particular.
But this episode isn’t all work and yarn! I also take a little detour from the dye studio and bring you along to explore a real life castle. Because apparently, a week in the life of a yarn dyer can include both yarn shops and castles.

I just added 3 gorgeous OOAK’s on British Wool Fine to the shop. They initially were meant for a life of Campfire Marshmallow but the pan had other ideas. I’m very diligent at washing my pans in between colorways but this particular one snuck past me, leaving blue dye behind. Sometimes these things happen, so I decided to roll with it and have a little fun with color play!

Campfire Marshmallow was originally introduced last summer for the return of the Vintage Campout Collection. As you are all aware, I’m not much of a speckle/variegated dyer but when I was relaunching the collection I just had to include a colorway that evoked the feeling of sitting around the fire, stick in hand, aiming for the perfect roast yet you accidentally catch your marshmallow on fire. Now pair that with the endless stream of smoke that happens to follow you, hitting you directly in the face. Nailed that vision for sure!
The shop is fully stocked with another batch of Campfire Marshmallow, that just happed to get a little too close to the fire this round.

Campfire Marshmallow is back, this time a bit toastier than last and just in time for those peak summer nights.🔥🍫🪵 Whether you’re camping in the woods, sitting around a fire on the beach, or hanging out in the backyard, there is something about a crackling campfire that never gets old. And let’s be honest, no fire is complete without a roasting stick loaded up with marshmallows. Add a graham cracker and a piece of chocolate and you’ve got the perfect summer treat. This colorway is my little yarn version of that experience.  I’ve dyed up a limited batch of Soft Sock, Suri Silk, British Wool Fine, Hudson DK and Corriedale Sport, and they’re ready to ship.   Please note: Variegation and speckles will vary from skein to skein. Some may look like they got just a little too close to the fire... but that’s all part of their charm.

My first self drafted garment, a granny square cardigan! I haven’t picked up a crochet hook in over 10 years so saying it was long overdue is definitely an understatement. Not to mention it was about time that I showcase my yarn in a crochet project. Apologies that it’s taken this long. For this project I combined the crocheted squares with knitted ribbing, using mostly leftover skeins of Hudson DK that I had laying around.
This was seriously boats loads of fun to create! If you’d like to see more, I have a whole episode dedicated to it over on YouTube and added all the details on my project page over on Ravelry.

Hello everyone! This week’s YouTube episode is all about the making of my granny square cardigan.
After watching my pile of yarn scraps grow with every project, I finally decided it was time to put them to good use. Armed with little more than a crochet hook and a vague idea, I jumped right in. No swatches, no measurements, no strict color palette. I simply started making granny squares and hoped for the best.
Come along as this self drafted cardigan slowly comes to life, one square at a time.
