Hooray! It’s happening! The grand opening of monarch@spiritworks in Williamsburg. If you loved the items in the now-closed Dream Shop, I have just returned from Guatemala and we now have newer and more artisan crafts from families and cooperatives there. I’ll have another post soon to show you some examples. This will also be an open house for wonderful SpiritWorks, a Recovery and support center where those in recovery from addictions, and their families, find welcome, compassion, and peer-supported services for education and support. A bittersweet week has passed. The Dream Shop is closed and we are packing out of Eastern State Hospital. The shop has struggled in its current location which has been unwelcoming due to security measures. The shop itself is unwelcome there now, as acuity and forensic status increasingly describe the patient population of the building where we’re located.

There is good news around the corner! We plan to relocate to two other non-profit and more easily accessed settings, where we can enthusiastically and happily welcome visitors and customers. One will be in Williamsburg and another in Newport News. So I’m leaving this page up and will keep you notified!
