It’s probably no secret that we love skirted furnishings at Home Tonic. So while we are delighted to see the design world embracing them again, we have to admit :) we never stopped using them.

Skirts bring warmth, character, and softness to a room. And sorry, not sorry, if that means working a little harder to keep them clean. We’ll take the trade.

Because textiles do something essential in a space. They soften all the hard lines in the room brought by the architecture, paneling, furniture legs, windows, doors, etc. Those elements give a room structure; fabric gives it ease.

The best rooms have both. It’s the mix and the balance of elements that keep a room from feeling too perfect or predictable.

A beautiful room needs a little tension. And if that tension happens to come with a skirt, all the better.

We were inspired to bring in a bit of fun and creativity to the Home Tonic Fall window! Meet Brontë - yes, we named our saddle, and we named her after a mythical Greek horse who breathes light and fire! We used fabrics and trims from some of our favorite vendors Thibaut Stroheim Schumacher Stout Textiles as well as some vintage pieces collected over the years. A fun way to show how colors, textures and patterns work together to create something wonderful! Give us all the Ralph Lauren feels!
