I’ve been thinking a lot lately about making room for more joy.

Maybe it’s Pete heading off to college. Maybe it’s realizing how quickly the seasons of life change. Maybe it’s just recognizing that as women, we spend a lot of time taking care of things, planning things and making sure everyone else is okay - and sometimes we need an excuse to just have FUN.

Earlier this year, I went to an Early Birds dance party in Boston and left thinking: we need more of this.

More dancing.
More laughing.
More singing badly with your friends.
More reasons to get together just because it feels good.

So, while the weather is still warm, I’m bringing a little of that magic into my own backyard.

No fancy outfits. No perfect dance moves. No pressure.

Bright orange zinnia on this dreary fri morning. I attempted to harvest zinnia seeds last year, and sadly i threw down about 400 seed and none came up. I love my dahlias, but if I am honest, I might love my zinnias a bit more. I have to wait a whole year to grow again. :(
