Zone 6b gardeners know: tulips don’t wait for permission. The ground’s still half-asleep, but the tulips didn’t get the memo.

They push through anyway.

They’re the first to show up after a long winter, and I grow them for exactly that reason — for me, and for the people I love to surprise with “hey, spring’s here” bouquets.
