Hey y’all. After careful consideration, I have decided to close EmmyLou Farr in its current form. This decision has been brewing in my heart for a while and it’s finally time to say goodbye.
It’s no longer sustainable and congruent with my life to spend my weekends hawking my wares at markets, and the production required to carry an inventory of items is both more time-consuming and physically taxing than I can continue to bear. In short, the small business life isn’t working for me. This year has been a doozy and running the business on top of everything else often pushed me to the brink.
I will always love ice dyeing and will always do it for those I love (and maybe even some of my favorite customers, if you ask me nicely).
If you are one of those people who has been meaning to take me up on my offer of learning to ice dye with me in my studio, now is the time. Please reach out directly to set up a time in January when we can make art together. I have lots of blanks and dyes to use up (as best I can) before I have a final warehouse sale to sell off whatever’s left.
It is very unclear at this time what the future holds for me. For now, I can let you know that I have a lot of ice dyed treasures here at my studio that I want to share with my beloved fans at 50% off. I will be having an Instagram Story Sale this Friday morning (12/20) at 11:00 am PST, and while these items won’t arrive in time for Christmas (obviously), they will surely brighten your day whenever they arrive!
