It’s Back! And New Offerings, Too!
I realized that I have not produced and sent a “Clear View” since November of last year! December was actual US Mail of Christmas cards, which extended into January and life/ work has been so busy that I have not been producing these monthly greetings! So…. Good to exercise my writing skills again and make contact just in time for Spring Cleaning. And introduce a program that might just help that Spring Cleaning!
I have been having good luck buying and selling on Facebook Marketplace. Frankly, I outfitted our house finding “hidden treasures” of items that someone no longer needed and now have a new home with me. Plus, I have had the opportunity to likewise find homes for those things I can no longer use. My heart soared when I sold a loveseat to a young couple just starting out. They were over the moon with it and they have told me they will continue to check to see just what I have to offer!
If part of your Spring Cleaning is to de-clutter your closets or your garage; there is stuff you don’t want to chuck, but don’t have the time to deal with on line selling, let me handle this for you. For a negotiated percentage, I will list, manage and arrange for transport of those things you just don’t need cluttering up your house. Give me a shot, you might find a few extra dollars in your pocket and the satisfaction of knowing your items will have gone to a good home.
I continue to develop the Social Media Management aspect of the business. Many a insomniac hour has been invested learning just how best to market and manage social media approaches to anything from non-profit outreach to selling of used items (see what I just did there?) For years, I have developed and managed pages and groups for not only my business, but the Oakdale Lions Club, various musical entities that I am involved in, and helped out with the social media for Saint Matthias Anglican Church.
If you have an entity that can use help in their social media presence, be it non-profit or a small business let me know. I could offer help in “how to” or be that manager of the social media approach. Call or drop me a line and we can talk about it!

The Railtowners play for Opening Day!
Railtown 1897 State Historic Park will be having Opening Day April 4th in Jamestown CA. The regular excursion season again will be under way with historic steam locomotive “Three Spot” at the head end of four scheduled trips that day.
My new band, “The Railtowners” will be playing on the platform greeting guests as they arrive either from their cars or back into town from the excursion. This brand new band will be playing traditional family train songs, songs of the Irish railroad workers, good Americana, country and whatever comes along the line. Oakdale Lions Club Growing and Wants You!
The Oakdale Lions Club Is growing! Now at 80 members and continuing to recruit new members who want to serve our community!
In March we held our annual Pancake Breakfast where we fed up to 750 hungry Oakdalians with pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, hash browns and all the fixings. Helped by Scouting American and the Oakdale Leos Club we cooked, served and cleaned up Bianchi Community Center many times over.
In the near future we will be on a Love Oakdale project along with serving the post work day lunch at Dying Breed. We will be at Sanchez Ranch for Day on the Farm, working with young people and their families with the Society for disAbilities. Of course toward the end of the year we present the Spirit of Oakdale Thanksgiving Dinner and the Childrens Christmas Shopping Tour.
If you have ever asked yourself how you could serve your community, the Oakdale Lions Club offers the ideal opportunity to give back. Commit as much or as little time as you have to offer. Drop me a line if you have interest and I can set you up for one of our Thursday evening dinner meetings.
Brennan’s Parlor Celebrates Saint Paddy’s at H-B
3/16 (From Paul, head reveler) We had a blast at the Ceili at the H-B. So much participation from the outer circle. Wow! Curious about the "outer circle"? If you've been to the Ceilidh you've seen a circle of "performers" usually with instruments. That's the "inner circle". The "outer circle" is those that gather to listen or contribute as the spirit of the Ceilidh guides them. Chorus?... perhaps. Last night we had an outstanding outer circle. I heard so many joyful comments about the participation, enthusiasm, and talent. The "inner circle" thrives on nights like that. The joy appears in the outer circle as well. The circles are concentric but not separate . Call out your requests, take a seat to lead a song, grab a verse.
April, we return back to Bachi’s Restaurant and our regular Ceilidh Monday, April 20th from 6:00 – 8:00.
Come put on your Irish, bring an instrument or voice and a love for good old pub favorites. Looking for guitarists, fiddlers, banjo players or any folk instrument that would play the Celtic genre. We have been fortunate enough to have members of The Black Irish Band and Cooking With Turf join in for a pint and a “tun” (tune). If you are not a musician but love this style of music, come enjoy; and perhaps sing along with the music!
