Donations accepted Thurs & Sat 12-3pm. The East Bay Depot for Creative Reuse is a low cost arts and craft Reuse store dedicated to serving bay area teachers, students, and artists for their educational and personal projects. The Depot diverts over 100 tons per year of discarded and reusable household items from the landfill. Store hours: Wednesday-Sunday 12pm-6pm

Good news for Sashiko fans: due to our beginning Sashiko class on June 10th selling out (and then some) we've decided to change the intermediate class on June 17th to a beginning/intermediate class!

In this mixed-level class , instructor Cirrus Wood () will focus on basic Sashiko skills but will also offer some more advanced techniques for those with prior experience.

There is still space in tonight's Applique for Beginners class!
Wednesday, June 3, 6:30-8:30pm
Instructor Cirrus Wood ()

In this two hour class students will learn the basics of appliqué, a decorative form of patchwork where print fabrics are cut and combined like collage. All supplies will be provided - including cowgirls and koi! There may be some other prints available as well depending on what has been donated to the Depot.

Students will have the opportunity to make their own appliqué using a cotton napkin as a base, but are also welcome to bring in a cotton garment of their own - such as a shirt, denim jacket, jeans, or tote bag - onto which they would like to stitch their appliqué. Skills covered include how to prepare fabric, how to start and finish a stitch, whip stitch, & blanket stitch.
