Huge selection of plants, cards and gifts as well! Delivery available in most Northeast Pittsburgh suburbs. Hi - I’m Lauren, and I love flowers. I am not only a florist, but also a cut flower grower. I created Burgh Bouquets to share my love of cut flowers with the Northeastern Pittsburgh region. I am located in Oakmont, and I offer garden-inspired floral delivery in Oakmont, Verona, Blawnox, Fox

Chapel, O'Hara, Indianola, Dorseyville, Aspinwall, Highland Park, East Liberty, Shadyside, Plum, Penn Hills, New Kensington, Arnold, Lower Burrell, Cheswick, Springdale, Harmar, and Harwick. I am not a traditional florist and I don't offer arrangements using typical imported flowers like lilies, carnations, and standard roses. My designs are garden-inspired, incorporating locally grown cut flowers (including my own) seasonally, and sourcing similar cut flowers from farms in warmer climates out of season. A little bit about me and my flower journey ...

I was a corporate lawyer for 15 years, and then in 2022, my friend Christine introduced me to dahlias and my life changed. I know that sounds dramatic, but it’s true. In 2023, I grew a couple dozen dahlias and began immersing myself in cut flower gardening. I researched cut flower farming extensively, created detailed spreadsheets and planting calendars, and prepared to launch my own cut flower garden. In 2024, that dream came to life. I grew over 80 dahlias and a full blown cut flower garden with dozens of varieties of specialty cut flowers grown from bulbs, corms, tubers and seed, including tulips, daffodils, anemones, ranunculus, sweet peas, snapdragons, orlaya, yarrow, dara, didiscus, scabiosa, feverfew, rudbeckia, bells of ireland, calendula, peonies, aster, specialty zinnias, cress varieties, bupleurum, various ornamental grasses, baptisia, garden roses, and sunflowers. I turned our garage and basement into grow rooms, grew seedings inside all Winter and Spring, and had loads of blooms from Spring to Fall. Needless to say, growing flowers has become a true passion for me. It also makes me feel connected to my father, who passed away when I was in college. We always had a thriving vegetable garden growing up, and I inherited my “green thumb” from him. I also fell in love with arranging my unique garden blooms in modern and artistic bouquets and arrangements. As the 2024 growing season wound down and I completed my "learning year," I decided I was ready to step away from corporate law and launch my florist business. The concept is simple: seasonal, garden-inspired arrangements that are unique and long-lasting. Whenever possible, I incorporate homegrown or locally grown blooms in my creations. For me, flower arranging is an artistic outlet that I was missing in my life as a lawyer. Burgh Bouquets focuses on three main categories: bouquets and bouquet subscriptions, bouquet bars, and funeral arrangements. To be honest, I wasn’t sure about the last category at first, but when I started designing modern, garden-inspired funeral arrangements that were different than anything else on the market, the reception was overwhelming and I realized that they can be modern and beautiful too! Thanks for taking the time to read my story. I’m so grateful to finally understand what it means when people say “find a job you love and you’ll never work a day in your life.” If you’d like to follow along with my journey, follow on Instagram and Facebook. If you’ve been following along, then you know the thing I’m most passionate about aside from gardening, flowers & plants is …. FOOD. I believe food is a love language and it is my love language.

So when I get an opportunity to help amazing local restaurants elevate their spaces with plants or flowers, I get EXTRA excited. Our restaurant design experience includes not only real flower & plant projects but also faux flowers and plants when spaces or needs aren’t conducive to real ones. And you can trust us to only recommend a real plant for a space it will thrive in.

After we designed the plants and faux florals at Abode Kitchen & Bar , they referred us to help with the gorgeous renovations happening at Mad Mex Shadyside! Mad Mex needed a beautiful, sculptural installation for the renovated restaurant and I was so excited to execute such a fun design.

We considered a number of suppliers nationally but ultimately chose our friends at Plantscape, Inc 🌿 Interior Landscaping who truly offered the best product I could find and executed my vision perfectly in every way. Thank you Ashley for being so wonderful to work with and thank you Mad Mex for this opportunity. I can’t wait to return to enjoy Gobbleritos & margs this Fall beneath this installation!

Don’t get me wrong, the days can often be long, chaotic, stressful, and way less balanced than today was. But today was a win in more than one sense of the word and is worth celebrating. The biggest thank yous to Kelly Duez Brittany 🩷 Pickle and Lauren Nyalka who hold down the fort for me on the weekend with so much talent and care and allow me to not miss out on these moments.
