I can never take an aesthetic photo of my artwork, maybe a new year resolution 🤷🏼‍♀️

I’ve wanted to make something like this, focused on the eyes, forever. The little pop of white was just the icing on the cake 🐯

This little scrap of wood came from the top of my fox wood burning!

More moments from Cedar Point

It was an odd beauty combined with a bit of sadness. Growing up near the Platte River, I always heard it described as “a mile wide and an inch deep,” but really never saw it as such. It wasn’t until I saw a photo of a woman standing in an inch of endless water at the Rowe Sanctuary in Kearney, NE that I began to grasp the floodplain/winding, braiding river that the Platte is meant to be.

Knowing that these reservoirs (and manyyyy others on the North and South Platte) inhibit the flow of the river and cause habitat loss while also trying to enjoy the beauty of the area was a bit of mental gymnastics. All of this to say, it was such beautiful experience and I am so lucky to have the time at Cedar Point to relax, create, and explore.

Because my brain can never focus on one thing too long, I made some earring sets! Charms and earring hooks were all thrifted from my favorite store in Colorado Springs, Who Gives a Scrap.

Most sets can be mixed and matched so just because they’re in a pair now, doesn’t mean we can’t rearrange to make a fun new set for you!

Each set is $10 each.

A bit of sparkle never hurt anyone!

Also though, a reminder to always reach out to support those around you and to not be afraid to ask for help when you need support as well. Love you all!

I'm excited to officially announce that I will be an artist in residence at Cedar Point Biological Station in July!

Cedar Point is near Lake McConaughy and hosts a myriad of research through the University of Nebraska concerning the Great Plains ecosystem. I have the honor of attending field workshops, exploring the grounds, and connecting to create within this beautiful space.

Artist in Residence programs connect artists with a new environment and offers the artist time, space, and reflection to create without the usual daily distractions that arise. This has been on my list of life goals for a long time and I’m so excited to create more!

My Story

Hello and thank you for visiting my page!

I'm Kylee, a college gal studying Recreation Management. My first love is the outdoors but my passion is art. Creating an idea in my mind and actually getting to see it come to life with my own two hands is thrilling.

I'm always looking for new mediums to create with including wood slices, cutting boards, coasters, and canvases. My specialties include wood burned art and hand lettering custom acrylic signs.

Please browse the albums of my previous and currently available work as well as my Etsy and Instagram and message me with your ideas! I’m here to make all your Pinterest and home decor dreams come true.
