Some projects just hit differently.
This hutch was gifted to me, and from the moment I saw it, I knew it had so much potential hiding beneath the orange oak finish. Instead of letting its size intimidate me, I grabbed my favorite All-in-One Stain Toasted Oak and started transforming it one brush stroke at a time â and honestly, it became one of my favorite projects Iâve ever done.
The best part? The stain made this makeover feel SIMPLE. No overwhelming process, no endless steps⌠just watching this beautiful piece come back to life with every brush stroke coat. Large furniture pieces can feel intimidating, but this one reminded me that sometimes the most rewarding projects are the ones you almost talk yourself out of starting.
And now it holds one of my favorite collections â my white china.
Iâll always love colorful, patterned, and vintage dishes, but for me white china always feels timeless, versatile, and so aesthetically pleasing. It lets every texture, curve, and detail shine while still making a statement all its own. Clean and classic, exactly the feeling I wanted this space to have.
This hutch went from forgotten furniture to a piece that truly feels like the heart of the room, and I couldnât love it more.
