This sign has over 180 pieces on it that were all hand cut wood shaped to look more realistic, then hand painted to add beauty and character, but you know what the hardest/most stressful part was…. Puzzling all these pieces together and gluing them onto the sign in the exact correct spot so they fit together and made this
One of a kind piece! Just the glue up alone for this sign took me close to 4 hours!
If you’re ever curious why my work has a very broad range for prices, or I’ve told you that “how much are your signs?” Isn’t a question I can really answer with 1 #… this is the perfect example why!
Most of my 20” signs max out around 50 pieces, so if I simple said “20” signs are $xx” I likely would have made less than $5/hr creating this beautiful piece which is below minimum wage and simple unsustainable. But because I want to provide 100% custom pieces that aren’t cookie cutter or limited to a select few options I have to price each sign out individually based on the design of that specific order.
This is not to say I can’t work inside a budget, but this is to say, every budget has limitations and I will not design a piece inside a budget that requires me to take hours away from my family and work for pennies, Thankfully 95% of my customers don’t ask me for more than they are able to spend. Because of that I am still excited and able to make one of a kind pieces just for you!
