I went out to work in the garden, but my furry little manager had other plans. 😂 According to her, chores are canceled until further notice and the ball must be thrown immediately. Anyone else living under this kind of tiny dictatorship?

This is my first year growing sunflowers, and I am officially hooked. 🌻

My MIL gave me a packet of variety sunflower seeds, and I figured… why not? I had no idea they would come in colors this pretty. Look at those deep reds and orange tips! 😍

I’m hoping to save seeds from this first group for my next planting, but I’m still learning as I go.

Sunflower friends — how do you know when they’re ready to cut and dry? Do you let them dry on the stalk, bring them inside, cover them from birds, or something else?

And once you harvest the seeds, how long do you let them dry before planting them again?

Share all your sunflower secrets with me because I clearly need to plant twice as many next time. 😂🌻

Summer Creativity Prompt #4: Make a Map to Somewhere Magical

For this one, I cut open a paper bag to make a big map. Since she is in a dinosaur phase, her magical world turned into a friendly dino hunt to find all the “nice” dinosaurs.

She added roads, castles, water, and little dinosaur stops along the way. Then we put paint on the tires of her Lego car and let her drive it across the map to leave tracks.

Sneaky learning win: this turned into map-making, storytelling, fine motor work, imaginative play, direction-following, and a little dinosaur science all rolled into one.

To keep the theme going, this would pair perfectly with a Dino book or an episode of Dino Dana on Amazon.

A paper bag, a toy car, some paint, and a little imagination can turn into a whole prehistoric adventure. 🦕✨
