I got my blocks all laid out and after studying them for a couple hours I have a headache. 😂 I tried to make sure none of the same Fabrics touched each other. I rotated each block many times trying to spread out some of the dominate Fabrics that stand out more. Since I had two colors ways of stripes, I decided to make all the green and blue stripes block face all the same direction and all the orange and green stripes all face the opposite direction. Then I numbered each row with my numbered heat resistant pins and used the arrow pins to mark which direction the block lays before I started sewing them all together. Stay tuned for the final pieced quilt top. Pictures below but I had some trouble getting a good picture since the top is pretty big.😻

I also want to point out these handy magic number and letter pins that we carry. They are heat resistant and great for marking your quilting rows and keeping them in order for when you get ready to sew them all together. They also come in a handy carrying case which makes it easy to take them to sewing retreats and classes! Link below:

Finally in the home stretch! Steps 12 through 14 completed if you are following along. Once you finish step 12 and have all of your blocks ironed it is time to start arranging them in rows. Since I have 72 blocks instead of 48, I plan to arrange them in 9 rows across by 8 rows down. I want mine to be a little wider than longer so I can have some over hang when placed on a bed. 😻
I am toying with the idea of using a wideback minky on the back but I have never personally used minky on the back on any of my quilts before so I might play it safe and just use a Kaffe Fassett wideback...

Starting again with this beautiful quilt pattern. I'm sorry I missed posting last week. LOL, I decided that I wanted to make this quilt about 30% bigger. Why? Well what could be better than making a quilt big enough to snuggle with your honey and one very spoiled rotten velcro kitty! I had a lot of squares to catch up on. Original the pattern has 48 squares and my quilt will end up being made with 72 squares. 8 rows x 9 columns.😻 (also pictured below is said velcro kitty "Oscar" she is always by my side 🥰)

Below is steps 10 and 11 completed if you are following along. By now you may have noticed with each round of strips we insert we are basically rotating our blocks and cutting 1.5 inches off to insert the next Jelly roll strip creating that easy ribbon weaving effect that looks like it might be a much more difficult quilt to make than it is.

Below is steps 2 and 3 completed if you are following along. I found it best to chain piece all of my pieces for step two together for ease of keeping all my pieces together and completing the entire step for all my fabric before starting on to step 3. 😻
