Looks like a road trip wish I could go

A free, all-ages concert celebrating the music and spirit of the Grateful Dead is coming to Levitt Pavilion Denver this fall. The Colorado Free Jam ft. Grahame Lesh & Friends will take place on Saturday, October 3rd, serving as the finale of the spacious outdoor venue’s 2026 Free Concert Series.

The special Colorado gathering, presented by Live For Live Music, Dayglo, Levitt Pavilion Denver, and SPIN, will feature Grahame Lesh alongside friends Justin Mazer, Damian Calcagne, Ross James, Nathan Graham, Scott Padden, and Elliott Peck. Doors will open at 6 p.m., with music beginning at 7 p.m. Free RSVPs and premium upgrade tickets are available here.

The son of late Grateful Dead bassist and founding member Phil Lesh, Grahame Lesh has spent much of his musical life carrying the Dead’s exploratory ethos forward while developing his own distinct voice. The Marin County, CA-based guitarist and singer-songwriter is known for his work with Midnight North, Phil Lesh & Friends, and the Terrapin Family Band, in addition to his evolving Grahame Lesh & Friends project.

Often abbreviated as GLAF, Grahame Lesh & Friends has developed into a flexible outlet for Lesh and his collaborators to dig into the music that has surrounded him throughout his life. The project revels in resurrecting forgotten and unfinished Grateful Dead songs, reimagining material from Midnight North, exploring songs written by Grahame’s brother Brian Lesh, and finding unexpected covers to weave into the mix.

Rather than simply looking backward, Lesh’s approach keeps the focus on the song and the groove in the moment, drawing freely from rock, folk, blues, soul, and beyond. With a lineup of seasoned players joining him in Denver, Colorado Free Jam promises an open-ended evening rooted in the improvisational, communal tradition that has long defined the Grateful Dead universe.

The concert will also cap Levitt Pavilion Denver’s 2026 Free Concert Series. The non-profit outdoor venue operates with a mission of building community through music and is part of a national Levitt network dedicated to bringing free live music to public spaces. In 2026, the Levitt Family Foundation is supporting more than 900 free concerts in over 90 cities nationwide.

Rest in peace Dolly. ❣️💕🎤 I've know you since I was a baby. I'm now 55, crying for this loss (grief - I heal grief this one takes a while) It hurts just like Jerry. Omg, this now, unexpected, didn't know she had cancer. I'm 6 times cancer survivor 💕

💔🦋 RIP DOLLY PARTON — A REFLECTION FROM THE HEART 🦋💔

Today I woke up to the heartbreaking news that Dolly Parton has passed away at 80.

OMG… Dolly was SO loved. ❤️

For so many of us, Dolly wasn't just a singer. She represented kindness, generosity, strength, resilience, hope, family, and giving back. And as someone who comes from the Grateful Dead community, I know how deeply loved Dolly was by Jerry and by so many of us who carry that music and that spirit in our hearts. 🌹✨

But I have to be honest about something that has bothered me for a while.

When I saw some of the food products being sold with Dolly's name on them, I was honestly shocked. The ingredients and sugar content in some of these products are far from what I personally consider nourishing, wholesome food. Some contain highly processed ingredients, added sugars, colors, preservatives and other additives.

And it made me think…

When did we become so comfortable putting a beloved person's name and beautiful image on products that don't necessarily reflect the kind of wellness we hope to see in our communities?

This isn't about blaming Dolly. She was an artist, entrepreneur and businesswoman who partnered with major food companies. Her legacy is MUCH bigger than a food product.

But maybe her passing can remind us of something important:

🌱 Read the labels.

🌱 Know what you're putting into your body.

🌱 Don't assume something is healthy because a beloved person is attached to the name.

🌱 Choose nourishment over marketing whenever you can.
