I have drawn my lamb “Lamby” stuffed animal more than once. I always reference it and connect it to my youngest childhood memories. I drew this image just from pure memory as I hadn’t seen my favorite toy in 15+ years. I wasn’t even sure if it was still around. The thought and realization of me probably never seeing it again made me super sad but I understood that many people often lose or get seperated from their childhood toys as they get older and that’s pretty normal so I tried just accepting that and moving on even though I was pretty bummed about it.

Out of curiosity, I called my Dad and asked if he possibly had “Lamby” in storage or around his house somewhere. He immediately knew which stuffed animal I was talking about. This lamb was my main treasure as a child. To my surprise, he said that he was pretty sure he saw it not that long ago and I was sooooo stoked to hear this.

Yesterday, I saw my Dad and he handed me a bag and it had Lamby in it. When I tell you it was like seeing a familiar face of a friend that I thought I would never see again 💖

Watching rewatching all the Toy Story movies had me thinking about this toy and those movies always get me so emotional. If you also have big feels about inanimate objects or places then this is for you too! Whats your favorite thing from your childhood that you remember?

Another T-shirt illustration I got to do for The Next Chapter bookstore! Have you read any of these? I just finished Heartstopper Vol 1 and Vol 2 and I’m obsessed. I will say though that The New Girl and First Crush by Cassandra Calin are honestly my favorites that I’ve read in a long time!

I just realized after looking through my sketchbook and folder of assignments from my 2D Foundations class (forever ago), that I never shared the finished version of this accordion book that I made. It got very messy after I started inking and did the watercolor, but here it is! ✨ back when I refused to draw fingers and toes.. thanks for looking! Huge thanks to Shelly from bookstore for having the Independent Bookstore Day art contest! Indie bookstore day was last Saturday April 25th and we honestly had such a great time. It was so fun to create this illustration, especially for the love of books and shopping local! ✨
