While checking in at a newly remodeled commercial project last week, one of the end users of the space commented on how intentional everything feels, as if it all has a purpose, and how surprised they are that we accomplished so much without additional square footage. I accepted her thankfulness and added, “That is what happens when design starts with programming!”

Purposeful spaces require collaboration between the designer and the end user. The work put into the programming stage of design pays off ten-fold when the design comes to completion, and then again every time the space is used.

Swivel chairs look great from every angle🤩
I love using swivel chairs next to windows with a gorgeous view; they really allow the best of both worlds.
Depending on the time of day, you can either turn towards the windows and enjoy the view or face the larger furniture grouping and be a part of the conversation.
Don’t overlook their flexibility; they have come a long way since your great-aunt had them in her living room! And you may find the movement of the swivel to be very relaxing!

I love this view of the fireplace, as it shows the subtle taper of the stone and the mantle detail that wraps and turns into the built-ins on either side. 📚
The stone's color and texture pull the space's finishes together, creating a soft harmony. This fireplace is the result of well-executed elements and principles of design, and it deserves to be the room's ‘constructed’ focus!
When I am in the process of designing a space, I visualize special moments of family and friends. We trust that the focus is on those sitting around the fireplace, the conversation taking place, and the memories being created, and we have just created a spot for that to happen.

The warmth of the wallcovering, the vibrancy of the art, the unique light fixture, and the classic leather and wood combo create a bold and beautiful conference room.
We loved helping bring this space to life in a way that pairs function and beautiful elements together.

Exterior details we love from the French Country New Build!🤩

We are thankful every day for the various talented contractors, plumbers, electricians, masons, landscapers, and MORE that we get to work with! They truly are the best, and we couldn't bring these visions to life without their hard work!

I love the view in this mirror and how it reflects the light from the windows across the room!

This space has great windows with a stunning view, but with a wrap-around porch roof over the windows, we wanted to capture some more of the sunlight. This large floor mirror was perfect for the task at hand and is a great trick you can use in similar situations!

I love that Jessica Bonestroo Photography captured this view so beautifully through her lens!

It’s not surprising that outdoor living in the Midwest takes place within a pretty short season. But, after looking at these pictures, it may not be surprising to you that this patio is used a lot within that season! With an outdoor kitchen, fireplace, tv, hot tub, and comfortable furniture, the space draws you in, or out of the house 😉

And, the beautiful Midwest sunsets can be viewed in all of their perfect glory across the open field. There really isn’t anything better than a sunset showing off for its Creator!
