I was excited to give this old silverware box a pretty makeover. The fabric, and cardboard inside was kinda difficult to clean up. The glue inside these boxes, and old suitcases is so strong so it takes some work getting it to look presentable. I decided to paint the inside a light grey chalk paint to make it nicer. It still wasn't to my liking so I went through my fabric stash, and found these 2 scraps to jazz it up. I added some twine trims to make it look more finished.

I think it's much prettier now, and I was happy to save it from the landfill.

I upcycled this vintage suitcase as a display for Captiva Curio Cottage in Sanibel, Florida.

I used a combination of IOD, and Prima transfers. Also Waverly Fern green paint, and Annie Sloan Capri pink chalk paint. The hair pin legs are such a fun way to mix modern, with vintage.

I spent the last 2 days revamping this old suitcase. I'm so thrilled with how it turned out!

It got a peachy pink chalk paint, Fern Fables folk art transfers from the new IOD summer release, wooden legs that I painted white, and a whole new inside painted light grey...it's gonna be a display case for my friends store Captiva Curio Cottage in Sanibel, Florida.

It was a labor of love, and I'm so happy with the result.

It's been awhile since I've done an introduction post so here I am! This was a rare occasion that I got dolled up, and left my art studio to go "peopling." As an empathic introvert the struggle is real to leave the comforts of my apron, and safe space. 🤣

This little art business of mine is such a blessing, and my light in dark times. I'm so grateful for supportive family, and friends who cheer me on while I tinker away everyday. I thoroughly enjoy this hobby that evolved into what I feel is a success. Having a creative outlet over the last 7 years has been so rewarding, beneficial to my happiness, and my wellbeing. It truly is my happy place, and everyday when I wake up I'm busy creating, sharing posts, listing my wares to sell, thrifting items to revamp, or daydreaming of projects to make.

I did markets for 5 years, but I've happily retired, and sell on FB marketplace which is very lucrative for me. 2026 has been a whirlwind of fun since I made a new friend named Grayce who found me on FB. She had a vision for her businesses, and knew what she wanted them to blossom, and evolve into. It's been so awesome to collaborate with her, and work towards creating her magical store in Sanibel, and in Fairhope, Alabama.
