This one tested me a bit… but we got the win in the end 💪

I just completed one of my largest custom orchid pots so far — 6” tall and 8” wide, printed in a translucent beige filament that gives it a really clean, almost glowing look.

After a failed attempt near the finish line, I tracked down the issue, fixed it, and ran it again—and this time it printed all the way through perfectly ✅

This orchid was already in trouble! 🫣

My daughter sent me this beautiful orchid for Mother’s Day 💝

It came in a pretty white pot…�with no holes at all.

And the instructions said:�👉 “Don’t water it yet… use ice cubes.”

Here’s the problem 👇
Orchids are tropical plants — their roots need airflow and to dry out between waterings.�When they sit in a pot with no drainage, water gets trapped and the roots can suffocate.

And ice cubes?�They expose the roots to cold they’re not built for.

So I took it out of the pot…
👉 and found rotting roots right next to healthy ones.

This is exactly why so many gift orchids die within weeks.

✅ The fix is simple:�Move them into a pot designed for orchids�— with lots of openings for airflow and fast drainage.

That’s exactly what I make with my 3D‑printed orchid pots 🌿
