In this week's cardmaking tutorial, I’m showing you how to create this simple and versatile card layout that can easily be changed up to create completely different cards. By switching the Designer Series Paper (DSP), colors, stamps, and die-cut embellishments, you can use this same basic template for birthdays, thank-you cards, greetings, holidays, and so much more!

I’ll be making the Peaceful Pine “hello” card step-by-step in the video, and at the end I’ll show you two more cards made using the same basic design. Sometimes a simple card layout is all you need to get your creativity going! Link to the video: https://youtu.be/TliaSAI9oIs

I will be making a limited number of kits available so you can make these cards yourself. Kits for the 3 cards are $25 plus shipping. Message me your email address and zip code and I'll send you a PayPal invoice.

I made this card using the Elegant Leaves bundle and colored the leaves in Golden Glow, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow. The copper foiling was done using the Echoes of Detail Hot Foil dies and then the Basic Beige card stock was embossed with the Textured Tree Ring 3D embossing folder. The sentiment is from an older Paper Pumpkin die set from 2025 and cut out in Earthen Toned Metallic Specialty Paper.

I hope you were able to grab a pack of the Splash of Sparkle Specialty DSP before it retired. This is my favorite pattern in the pack. I foiled a butterfly from Butterfly in Flight and colored it to match the DSP. I love how it turned out.

I made this card to post on Instagram and Pinterest (Chris Is Stampin). I was not planning on buying the Frosted Pinecones bundle. I have enough pinecones; but after seeing so many beautiful, non-traditional, colors used, I couldn’t resist. Here I’ve used Cloud Cover and Secret Sea for the pinecone and Soft Sea Foam and Mossy Meadow for the greenery. I die cut the image using the Branching Out dies (retired) rather than using the die that came with the bundle. It’s matted with the Winter Dreams Specialty DSP. I love how it turned out and I’m planning on more non-traditional pinecone cards.

In Monday's video, I gave a tip I learned from Jill Lancett on YouTube. She used a glue pen to add dots to card stock. When they dried, she rubbed her foiling sheet over the dots and voila, you had foiled dots. I tried it and it worked. Then I wondered how it would work if I wrote my name with the glue pen. I said I'd post the results here because I needed time for the glue to dry. The results aren't quite as nice as the dots. I don't know if I need to learn to write neater with the glue pen, but here is the result.

I made these 2 cards using the Glow of Harvest Specialty Designer Series Paper for my weekly YouTube video. Since the POTM can only be purchased one time, I wanted to challenge myself to be a little more frugal with this gorgeous DSP. After all, when you love a paper this much, you want to stretch every pretty little piece as far as you can! I show you how I used this DSP to create 2 cards while being mindful of how much paper I'm using. It's a great project if you're looking for ways to make your Designer Series Paper go a little further without sacrificing the beauty of your finished cards. https://youtu.be/pbOwa-xE9b4
