What's the longest WIP you've ever had?!
This is a WIP that I've been working on since February of 2024 😵💫😅 I decided to add more too it last night because I couldn't sleep.
Technically this is a rug loom and when I originally started weaving this piece, I fully intended for it to become a rug. But just like us as humans when we have time to sit and process life as we navigate through it, our ideas and visions change for ourselves. Sometimes we don't move due to unnecessary fears or even confusion. We look at ourselves and don't see any progress and it's easy to get discouraged. Over the past two years I've been on a tremendous growth journey, navigating all types of changes, especially in the last 6 months. But I can say that the time I spent investing in myself has led me to a point where I am excited for my future and excited for the potential I know I have. I used to hide this piece in my closet so I wouldn't have to be reminded about not finishing it. But this is a lovely reminder that everyone's journey/timeline is different and doesn't have to match what we see around us.
It's funny because I originally wanted this to be a rug but decided it was too pretty to be on the ground. Now the vision I have for it is to be a piece that hangs from the ceiling! Maybe even adding lights to it so it's a unique lamp type thing. All this being said, I hope you all see yourself hanging up high instead of being down on the ground 💜
