When a community shows up for each other, something incredible happens. It’s not just about lending a hand — it’s about reminding one another that we’re never alone. Whether it’s a neighbor offering support, a friend checking in, or strangers stepping up simply because it’s the right thing to do, these moments create the kind of strength you can’t buy or build alone.
Community is built in the small things:
• A shared meal
• A donated item
• A kind message
• A helping hand during tough times
• A simple “I’m here if you need anything”
And when those small things come together, they become hope. They become healing. They become a reminder that even in the hardest moments, people still choose kindness.
We are sharing Oshkosh Arena's post today, because it would be wonderful to see our communities rally around Andy, while he is battling stage 4 lymphoma. Take a look at the silent auction items, stop by the benefit on Saturday and/or say a prayer for him. We have partnered up with the Oshkosh Area for about a year now, so when they reached out, we were happy to donate to the silent auction.
💚 Bid to fight cancer. Support a friend. Make a difference.
The online silent auction benefiting VenuWorks of Oshkosh/Oshkosh Arena Executive Director Andy Linton officially opens for bidding at noon Wednesday, Aug. 5, but you can register today and get a sneak peek. You’ll find more than 50 incredible auction items donated by employees, local businesses, organizations and generous community members.
From Wisconsin sports memorabilia and ticket packages to home décor, outdoor favorites, comfort items and unique one-of-a-kind experiences, there's truly something for everyone.
If you're a Packers fanatic, a Brewers fan, a Wisconsin Herd supporter or someone who doesn't follow sports but follows a life of kindness, you'll find plenty worth bidding on.
The Fox Valley has shown incredible resilience and compassion over the past week, and now we have another opportunity to rally around one of our own.
As Andy and his family continue their fight against stage 4 lymphoma and work through the final six weeks of chemotherapy treatment, every bid helps ease the financial burden and reminds them they are not facing this battle alone.
Together, we can turn generosity into hope, support and strength for Andy, his wife Tracy and the rest of his family.

The auction closes at 8:45 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 8, during Andy's in-person benefit at the arena from 5 to 9 p.m. You don't have to be present to win - but we hope you do join us as we have tons of great fun and entertainment happening for kids through adults!
