🐿️ A Little Woodland Story 🍄

This little fellow is officially finished.

I started with a wooden board, added a beautiful woodland image featuring this curious squirrel, mushrooms, acorns and faded florals, then built the rest of his story around it — muted sage paint, hand-aged and distressed edges, an old-style wooden spool, and just a wisp of Spanish moss to finish the top.

The featured woodland artwork is a sourced decorative image; the design, composition, decoupage application, painted and aged finish, and dimensional embellishments are my work for JMR’s Worlds.

I wanted him to feel less like a seasonal decoration and more like something discovered in an old cottage — a little worn, a little romantic, and very much at home among books and collected treasures.

And yes… I had to be told when to stop grunging. 😂

🌻 MIDWEEK MADNESS — SOMETHING IS BREWING 🌻

Around JMR’s Worlds, one idea has a habit of turning into three.

This week the worktable has been especially busy. 🎃 We’ve been developing new pumpkin patterns, experimenting with textures and finishes, and playing with some wonderfully unexpected ideas — including a little Western inspiration that started with boots and hats and quickly became something much more interesting.

And then there are the treasures already waiting their turn.

Some will be sold just as we found them.
Some will become part of a new collection.
And some are sitting there quietly waiting for us to look at them and say…

“Oh. I know exactly what we’re going to do with you.” 😂

That’s the fun of JMR’s Worlds.
