Cranium Collective Studio

Cranium Collective Studio CCS began as a college hobby and grew into a range of wearable fiber art. From community donations to custom pieces, every stitch tells a story.

With over 14 years of crochet experience, Cranium Collective Studio is the culmination of a journey that began during the winter break of my freshman year of college. What started as a self-taught experiment quickly grew into a passion, fueled by creating heartfelt gifts for friends and family celebrating new additions to their lives. From those first stitches, I discovered the joy of crafting han

dmade items that bring warmth and comfort. Throughout the years, giving back has remained at the core of my work. I've crocheted over 200 hats for the Hat not Hate campaign and have donated numerous items to oncology clinics and animal shelters around the Kansas City Metro area, hoping to bring a little extra warmth to those who need it. Each piece is created with love, crafted to serve a purpose beyond just being worn. In recent years, my work has expanded from simple pieces to a wide range of wearable items, reflecting a deepened skill set and a commitment to innovation in fiber arts. This growth inspired me to launch Cranium Collective Studio as a way to share my creations and passion for crochet with a wider community. At Cranium Collective Studio, I believe in the power of handmade art to connect people and tell stories. I'm thrilled to bring my craft to a broader audience, offering unique pieces that embody the warmth, care, and created that has defined my journey from day one.

If you didn’t know, I’m also a baker 💁🏼‍♀️ working on getting the micro bakery ready for the season, especially with the farmers market starting soon. That means lots of foot traffic.

For now, these Cakesicles are off to surprise my son’s teacher for his birthday.

🐯🧶✨ Finished my crocheted K‑Pop Demon Hunters Derpy Tiger!

Okay but… look at this little guy. He’s giving peak “I tried my best and now I need a snack” energy, and honestly I respect that. His tiny paws, his big expressive eyes, the slightly chaotic smile, he’s pure serotonin in plush form.

🧶 Crocheted with lots of love
💙 Soft, squishy, and adorably unhinged
🌟 Certified cutie with hero potential

Stitching legacy into public art.

After the passing of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in 2020, I had the privilege of joining a nationwide effort to honor her life and carry forward her work — one crochet square at a time.

Led by artist London Kaye and the Love Across the USA team, the mural at the Dallas Central Library is more than a tribute. It’s a living, breathing reminder of RBG’s fight for equality, justice, and representation brought to life through the hands of hundreds of fiber artists across the country.

Each panel in the mural reflects the power of collective creativity and the belief that art can be activism. Contributing to this project was deeply personal: a way to channel grief into purpose, and to celebrate the work still to be done.

In 2022, I joined a nationwide movement of fiber artists to create something deeply meaningful: the “Peace for Ukraine” crochet mural.

Led by artist London Kaye and the Love Across the USA collective, this 12x16 foot mural was crafted by over 150 volunteers, each contributing a 2x2 foot square stitched with love and purpose. The design was inspired by a sketch from Artem Varakuta, a 16-year-old Ukrainian refugee, who dreamed of peace for his homeland.

Our participation was more than a creative act, it was a statement of solidarity. At a time when the world felt heavy, we turned to yarn and community to express hope, resilience, and compassion. The mural debuted at the World Trade Center’s Oculus, a space symbolic of strength and remembrance, making the message even more powerful.
