Just in! The incredible story of Pamela Coleman Smith ("Pixie") - the talented illustrator of the world's most used Tarot Deck - the Waite-Smith deck.

She was born in England, raised in Kingston, Jamaica and Brooklyn, New York before settling in London where she established a studio to host open houses for those involved in the arts. During this period she wrote and illustrated two books about Jamaican folklore. She worked with both William Butler Yeats as well as Bram Stoker, and contributed art for the Suffrage movement in Great Britain.

Pixie also launched her own magazine and press, which featured work by many women in the arts. During this time she joined the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn where she met AE Waite, and in 1909 she worked with Waite to illustrate the worlds most recognizable 78-card tarot deck.

Her non-tarot related art never received as much acclaim - but luckily for those of us here in CT - her cousin was none other than "Sherlock Holmes" actor, William Gillette - and his collection of her gouache work can still be seen in his estate in Connecticut - Gillette Castle.

Today we are taking a look at how to make your own fire cider! My recipe used turmeric root, horseradish root, ginger root, onion, garlic, lemon, and rosemary in unfiltered apple cider vinegar. Once it's mixed for 4-6 weeks Ill strain this and add 1/4 honey to the liquid and use it as a daily immune boosting tonic

For my winter version I will be mixing it up by adding oranges, cranberry, hot peppers, and cinnamon sticks.

If you dont want to make your own, we now have bottled Fire Cider (as well as Elderberry & Honey tonic!) at the shop available for purchase

You'll never convince me Septarian eggs aren't fossilized Dragon Eggs ;)

But actually, dragons egg is another name for this insanely cool rock (and this one is filled with the most gorgeous black druzy!).

"This spherical or oval-shaped stone, which forms inside sedimentary rock, is composed primarily of the minerals calcite, with aragonite and siderite often present.

Septarian has a distinctive pattern of cracks and lines that radiate outwards from the centre of the nodule. These cracks and lines divide the stone into sections......The unique pattern of cracks radiating outwards from the centre of the stone is often filled with yellow calcite crystals.

Septarian forms in part through a geological process known as concretion. During this process, mineral-rich fluids fill spaces between sedimentary particles." (Stonemania.co.uk)

This is a powerful grounding stone, loaded with earth energy. Perfect for emotional healing, this particular rock is right for someone experiencing major life changes.

One Septarian Egg with Druzy is currently available (stand included) - DM for shipping or stop by. 4.2 lbs ($320)
