So much goes into designing a room, and most of it is the part you never see.

The floor plans. Figuring out scale and proportion. Measuring and re-measuring. Finding the right furniture pieces, then choosing the right fabrics. Rugs, paint colors, lighting, window treatments, art, accessories, styling... and all the little decisions in between that make everything work together.

For this project, we even commissioned a custom piece of art created specifically for the space.

What looks like a finished room is really hundreds of decisions, layered together over time.

And that’s the part of interior design I love. Taking all those individual pieces and turning them into a colorful, joyful home with soul. 💛

When I meet with new clients and color or style trends come up, I almost always say the same thing: trends will come and go, and eventually, they’ll come back around again.

I’m not interested in what’s trending. I’m interested in helping you discover what you love. The colors that bring you joy. The pieces you want to surround yourself with. The things that feel like you.

Because that’s how you create a home you’ll love for years to come. 💛

I’m so excited to finally share this project with you because it's one that's especially close to my heart. It's our home. When Rich and I moved into our Pacifica home, we weren't just looking for a place to live. We wanted to create a home together in every sense of the word.

✨Project Reveal: Layered in Love✨

When Rich and I moved into our Pacifica home, we saw it as an opportunity to create a home together in every sense of the word. We wanted a place where life could happen, a home for slow mornings, dinner parties, movie nights, evenings spent listening to records, and all the everyday moments in between.

We spent weekends wandering flea markets and vintage stores, choosing colors and furniture, and making every decision side by side. Because we were renting, we chose to bring in color through rugs, pillows, and artwork. Mixing vintage finds with new pieces, displaying our favorite vinyl records, and filling our home with plants helped us create a space that reflects who we are.

Our home is rooted in one of my favorite design philosophies: the most soulful spaces aren’t created all at once. They’re layered with love, collected over time, and tell the story of the people who live there.
