We thought the renovation was the story. Turns out, it was only the beginning.

When we first decided to turn our little cottage into an Airbnb, we had a short window to get it furnished, styled, and ready for guests. There were still layers I wanted to add, but at some point, we simply had to open the doors.

Then the reviews started coming in.

Again and again, guests mentioned the design, the feeling of the space, the furnishings and the character of the cottage. And instead of making me feel like it was finished, it did the opposite.

It made me want to take what was already working and push it a little further.

More collected pieces. More character. More warmth. More details that feel authentic to the cottage and its history.

And now, we’re slowly doing exactly that inside and out.

The cottage is still evolving, and I’ll bring you along as the next chapter takes shape.

Summer doesn’t exactly end in September when you live in Florida. The days are still hot, and in many ways, it still feels like summer.

But there’s something about September that always feels like a shift.

Looking back, this summer held a little bit of everything. Travel, new projects beginning, others moving along, time with family, gatherings around the table, and plenty of ordinary moments in between.

So before moving into the next season, a little look back at some of the moments that made up this one.

A little reminder that the presentation can be part of the gift, too. 🤍

There’s something about taking a few simple things and considering how they come together, the colors, textures, layers, even the container they’re placed in, that can make the whole gesture feel so much more personal.

Maybe it’s the designer in me, but I think of it much like styling. It’s not always about adding more. It’s about how the individual pieces come together.

We spend so much time thinking about how a home looks, but so much of how we experience it lives beyond what we see.

The scent that becomes familiar. The sounds that fill the rooms. The textures we reach for. The things we taste. The little rituals that quietly become part of our everyday rhythm.

These are a few of the things that have come to define home for me.

Sometimes the biggest transformation begins with the floor plan.
Opening up the walls and reworking the kitchen layout changed the entire relationship between the kitchen, dining and living spaces.
