If you have been inside Northside Marketplace or Rubber City Comics over the last few months, you may have noticed my stands and items missing.

Northside was my home for many years, I had a vendor space and I worked there. We were all taken advantage of (regardless if you were a vendor or an employee) and regardless of all the ideas I had to make the marketplace the very best it could be- it was all seemingly for nothing because my ideas were never allowed to happen.

It saddens me to see Northside close and leave many small businesses now homeless and for the owners that worked so hard to create their own brand. I got to know many of the businesses and the people behind them and I wish them all the very best.

But as someone who was on the inside of things in many ways, we can’t forget what happened and what caused the closure of such a great place. Don’t believe everything you read online.

To all the small businesses that stayed until the very end- don’t let what happened go away. Fight for your money and make sure you get everything you are owed.

I will still be attending shows, I still have an Etsy and am looking into new homes for my shop.
