A whole man has officially entered the chat. 😂💚

When I started this bathroom makeover, I knew that plain cabinet needed more than a coat of paint. A little trim, a whole lot of Sherwin-Williams Jasper, and those gorgeous antique brass pulls later… Uncle Jasper was born.

And GOOD GRIEF, what a difference. 😍

I’m slowly turning this bathroom into the moody, collected little space I’ve had in my head—and we are definitely not done yet. 👀

Now tell me: are we all in agreement that his name HAD to be Uncle Jasper?! 😂

I thought I ruined these mirrors halfway through this makeover. 😳😂

I loved the shape, but I wanted them to feel older, moodier and like they had been collected over time. So naturally, I pulled out the Rub ’n Buff…

…and made them WAY too gold. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Instead of starting over, I worked dark wax into all of those gorgeous little details and THAT was the missing piece. It knocked back the bright gold, added depth and gave them the aged finish I had pictured from the beginning.

Proof that sometimes the DIY isn’t wrong… it just isn’t finished yet. 🤭

Now tell me—would you have stopped at the gold, or are you team dark wax?!

Sometimes making your porch look fuller isn’t about adding MORE decor—it’s about making what you already have feel connected. 👏

By pushing the trees back and extending the garland into them, everything starts to read as one big, intentional installation instead of separate pieces sitting around the door.

Such a simple change, but SUCH a difference!

Save this one for your fall or Christmas decorating! 🎄🍂

Apparently I’m in my “everything in my house needs a little more character” era. 🤣

I went thrifting with absolutely no guarantee I’d find anything… and somehow came home with TWO vintage oil lamps, an old book, a bed finial, and the prettiest little scroll candlestick. 😍

These are the kinds of pieces I’m craving more and more lately—the ones that look like they’ve already lived a life before they ever made it into mine. They don’t match perfectly. They weren’t bought as a set. And somehow that’s exactly what makes a home start to feel collected instead of decorated.

Some of these already have a place waiting for them… and a couple may need a tiny Joyful Magnolia intervention before they get there. 🤭

Slowly but surely, we’re bringing the character—and the joy—home. 🤎

Apparently fixing the room I’d disliked for almost 10 years had an unexpected side effect…

Now I keep looking around my house thinking, “I could fix you too.” 🤣

The Decade Room gave me the confidence to stop living with things simply because they were fine—and start creating a home that actually feels like us.

Unfortunately for this perfectly innocent little bathroom cabinet… it was first. 😂

I thought this would be a quick little project.

It was not.

And I definitely didn’t know when I started that this cabinet was about to become… a whole man. 🤦🏻‍♀️🤣

Stay tuned. This story is just getting started.
