I have not been very lucky recently in finding the right size and weight of shells to do some of my bigger ornament designs. Either the shell is not big enough or, if it is, it is not a cockle shell and, therefore, too heavy to use as an ornament. So I am branching out into sculpted clay. Here is my first batch for Christmas 2026 (other than the Texas shaped Bluebonnets ornaments I posted a few weeks ago).

My main focus will still be using locally sourced Texas Gulf Coast shells that I collect myself along local beaches to create all kinds of coastal decor, including ornaments. The hand decorated sculpted clay ornaments are just a small expansion of my collection.
