This classroom will be hopping in a few minutes as I will be starting the Hunter’s Star class. This is one of the many classes I have taught in this years Tucker University Sophomore year series of clssses.

The Hunter’s Star is one tool and technique from Deb Tucker's Studio 180 Design I can never get tired of. Did you know it was the first tool Deb created? Isn’t that exciting!?!

So many variations can be created. If you don’t know anything about it take a look.

The best quilting birthday gift I could have ever given myself. 🎂🎉
My Color Study 01 - Founding Collector’s box arrived today from my absolute favorite fabric designer Laura Muir of Create Joy Project.
I’m in love. Look at those hearts!!!!
Most of all I am so grateful to now have an original watercolor piece from Laura! Totally fangirling over here!

Pillowcase totals from today:
⭐️ 47 completed
⭐️ 61 at various stages almost complete
⭐️ 91 drop off collections (completed prior to and donated during event.)
⭐️Grand total : 199

This Heart of a Quilter’s heart is so full! A very successful pillowcase sewing event today indeed!

A huge thank you to Mary Jane and Walter Handy, chapter coordinators for Ryan’s Case for Smiles, the many volunteers at today’s pillowcase sewing event and those who dropped off completed pillowcases. It would not be possible without you all.

The pillowcases from today’s event will be donated on Oct 14th to the following 6 hospitals

🏥 Massachusetts General Hospital for Children

🏥 Boston Medical Center

🏥 Jimmy Fund Clinic

🏥 Newton-Wellesley Hospital

🏥 Children's Medical Center - UMass Memorial

These Hospitals hold an annual inpatient pediatric Halloween parade so hospitalized children can still trick-or-treat.

Hospital staff decorate hallways, nursing stations, or specific "treat stops" and hand out candy, toys, and goodies.

Bits N' Pieces Quilt Shoppe and myself, Heart of a Quilter, are honored to be a part of helping bring a smile to sick children’s faces one pillowcase at a time.

Please stay posted as our next event is planned for Wednesday, Nov 11th. and accepting completed pillowcases all year long.

Fun filled class using Jelly Rolls to make “Spark”, a free pattern offered by Studio 180 Design.
Students did wonderfully. They learned to use the Tucker Trimmer to make Half Square Triangles and the V Block tool to make these beautiful pieces blocks.
