Table topper in place.
Always an evolving design.
My next one will be an octagon. I forgot I meant to cut off the corners of this one. It’s already bound so I’m keeping it.

What’s the difference?

You may have asked with my previous post, What’s “wrong” with block you made? It looks great.

Well, nothing really. But it wasn’t the true original pattern, “Block Buster #113 Wind Farm”.

How did I get there?

It was all because I wanted to make the block bigger to make it into a table topper. I bumped up the sizing of the center Wedge Star but forgot to bump up the size of the Flying Geese.

No biggie. Just make it work. (That’s my moto) You might just love the new creation.

You can do whatever you want! It’s quilting. No quilt police!

Sometimes even with the best intentions things just don’t work or aren’t what you expected.

My Advice: Always keep the ability to laugh at your own mistakes and the flexibility to go with the flow.
You might just like the outcome!

Or… you can always use that seam ripper.

(My not quite “BlockBuster #113 Wind Farm”)

Thought it would be fun to take “Mabel” (1939 featherweight) out and make the newest blockbuster, “Wind Farm” by Studio 180 Design.

Well, Mabel didn’t think so. As soon as I complemented her on her “doing great for an 87yr old lady” she threw a fit. I have a lot to learn about this “old lady”.

Guess I’m going to finish this project on my “younger and less attitude girl”.

Quilt #2: start to finish completed at retreat!

I just made this one up as I was going along, no pattern. Started with 10” squares. People at retreat thought I should definitely teach this one. What do you think?
