Artist's Philosophy:
Art heals, it is my therapy. From the exploration of selecting a subject, to choosing the composition through developing the image with today's graphic tools. Creating art through my lens strengthens my inner self, an escape from the burden of Multiple Sclerosis. Photography, painting with light, is an art of storytelling without words. My photographs are not only taken with
my visions, they are taken with emotion & heart. What makes my photography Art, is in the process, I overcame the resistance, ignored the voice of doubt and made something worth making. Something audacious. Something human. An admirable quote from Ansel Adams: “A great photograph is a full expression of what one feels about what is being photographed in the deepest sense and is thereby a true expression of what one feels about life in its entirety." Artist's Statement:
We live in a World that is complex and of a constantly changing puzzle. We are in a time when people need tranquility, restoration and inner peace. A speed bump better known as Multiple Sclerosis has averted my photographic passage into the Fine Arts of photography. It is through my lens I capture visions that portray tranquility and restoration. My aspiration is to create visual energy to excite the mind, a healing energy for the body and soul. Creating art becomes a therapeutic healing process for myself, an escape from MS. The once acquired images from my camera, become visual interpretations of my imagination through creative manipulation. The Phantasmic Imagery, be either Contemporary or Abstract, are my visual concepts of my subject. In pursuit of portraying energy to excite one's mind. For whatever occasion or emotion my images are created, my art facilitates refreshment for the being to observe. It is my objective to offer an escape from today's chaotic culture through my visual conceptions.
