Remember these sweet rag quilts that I made a while back? I had bagged them up with intentions of donating them but had not decided where I wanted them to go. They found their purpose with Project Linus of Warren/Hunterdon County yesterday during their blanket drive at Bloomsbury Firehouse. Seven quilts in total were dropped off and donated to this organization which will distribute them to sick children in the area. I could not think of a better use for them than to comfort children who need it most ❤️

This quilt top is complete, now for a backing, binding & quilting. I had cut far too many squares for the body of the quilt so it made sense to use them to create the outer border, which adds that something special I was looking for. The overall effect reminds me of stained glass.

And the universe said "there will be signs"🥰 the last few weeks have been difficult and although I have two xmas quilts to work on, they will not be completed this year. No desire to work on much of anything, until I realized I'd found a hidden treasure on my latest trip to the thrift store. I purchased several bags of miscellaneous scrap fabrics and inside one of them was the most beautiful bouquet of iris I have ever seen, let alone printed onto fabric. It immediately brought a smile and then a few tears...The fabric had been cut into yet there were two complete bouquets to work with and I knew exactly what to do with them thanks to Pinterest. This quilt is being made in loving memory of my sweet Aunt Ellen, who often visited this page, provided inspiration and supported my creative efforts 💔🥹 the iris was her favorite flower and mine also ❤️
