It's about that time when you might think to yourself, "What am I going to get Mom (or Dad) for Mother's (or Father's) Day? Well, if your family is like mine and they already have everything you can imagine, then you need something new. Just step right over to see real wood products made by merlinelliswoodworks.com. Here is a piece that I made a couple years back, but its my favorite because of how hard it was to make. The wood was littered with insect holes. I had to fill most of the holes with resin before I could turn this piece on the lathe.

During the July 4th week, I took some time to do some wood turning. Last year, Scott Adams stopped by my house with a chunk of mesquite wood that he was wondering what to do with. Here are the results of that woodturning. I'm glad he didn't throw this away!

New spalted aspen bowl for sale. Rod Svoma helped me cut up this fallen aspen tree last fall up on the rim. This light weight wood makes very beautiful pieces.
