This piece is 11 inch diameter. There are only 4 colors with lots of extra wood burning to enhance the idea that it is a basket rather than just a piece of wood. I will be at The Finer Arts Gallery in Cave Creek all day on Saturday doing a demonstration. I will have copies of my new book with me.

My favorite thing about being part of The Finer Arts Gallery is getting to do demonstrations outside and engage visitors who are walking on the sidewalk in front of the Gallery. It allows me the opportunity to not only share my work but encourage them to go inside and experience the amazing art of all our artists. It is much like inviting strangers into your home to meet the members of your family. I leave the Gallery each day after doing a demonstration with new favorite memories about meeting people from many places who left me with the gift of saying how much they enjoyed visiting our Gallery.

Many of you have asked where you would be able to see my work in person. These are some options. The upcoming Hidden In The Hills art tour, On The Edge Gallery in Old Town Scottsdale, The Finer arts Gallery in Cave Creek, The Sonoran Arts League Gallery in Care Free, The Desert Foothills Library in Cave Creek, The Rio Verde Country Club, and my home/studio located near I-17 and 303. All of these places are wonderful venues where you can see beautiful art created by very talented LOCAL artists.

A visitor to the 3rd Friday event at The Finer Arts Gallery, this past week, asked me if I could do a Hopi pattern called "man in a maize". So I used a blank platter that was ready and added the pattern. It is symbolic of their belief in the travel through the maize of life. It is 12" diameter. The baskets were just one dark color and one light color.
