Silvestre's started as a blacksmith shop in Carmel, Ca 1928 Few treasures can endure the test of time like metal works of art. No one understood this better than my father, master metalwork sculptor Gonzalo Silvestre, who introduced me to the art of blacksmithing when I was a small boy growing up near Palo Alto, California. Many have apprenticed under Gonzolo Silvestre, but few had the opportunity

to learn the trade firsthand, as I did as a young boy – often perched on a peach crate so that I could reach the anvil! Everything I learned about form and beauty and the enduring qualities of iron and metal, I learned at his knee.

Ron kinyon and I have worked on this off and on for a while, and it is worth it. The memories it brought back with my cousins Albert and George Azcarate, Norman, and Jesse some good ole days when I was learning to tig weld. Boy, did Albert yell at me, lol great memories
