Made myself a new bag to take when I teach classes. I definitely went ALL IN on it.

The Stitch & Stash Tote by Knot and Thread seemed like the perfect size for all the things I haul around with me to teach. I also used it as an excuse to pull out a bunch of my saved goodies. Webbing I’ve been hoarding, fun tags, patches, the good fabric… if I loved it, it made the cut.

You could say this bag has a lot of flair. 😂
Especially the LESS PEOPLE MORE DOGS patch. This one makes me laugh every time I look at it. I found it at last week and knew immediately it had to go on here. Also very much love the “super cool” pigeon tag from Cost Club Handmade.

This bag is just for me, so you’ll definitely see it out in the wild hauling around way too much sewing stuff, like always.

This School Days pouch gave me an excuse to bust out that good old selvage magic letters panel.

Finding letters that were the right size, color, and font took far longer than I expected. There was definitely rearranging, swapping, and overthinking. 😂

Sewing is funny like that. I’ll happily spend way too much time on a tiny detail that most people will notice for about three seconds.

Totally worth it for a little “Smart Cookie” pencil pouch just in time for back to school.

This past week we were on our annual family vacation in Ocean City, NJ. One of the things we always say on vacation is that everyone should get to do what they want. ❤️

So, thanks to my very supportive husband, I packed my sewing machine. It felt a little ridiculous loading it into the car for a beach vacation, but after a day at the beach, sitting at the kitchen table with my audiobook playing and working on a Christmas quilt for our bed was exactly how I wanted to relax.

Here’s the progress! One block down, 15 to go. The good news is all the tiny pieces are already made, so now it’s mostly assembly from here.

There’s something really satisfying about pulling a project back out after it’s been waiting patiently for a couple of years.

This Barn Star quilt started two years ago, took a very long detour through my work-in-progress pile, and finally made it across the finish line. I challenged myself to make the entire quilt from just ★ RUBY STAR SOCIETY ★ two fat quarter bundles, and I love how cohesive the colors ended up feeling.

Now it’s packed up and headed to Amanda for its final step.

Sometimes projects take the scenic route, and that’s okay. 😊 I can’t wait to see it come back all quilted and ready for binding.

And if this quilt looks a little familiar… there’s a reason. 😉 It just might be the inspiration behind something exciting I have planned for 2027.

I’ve been a little quiet around here lately… not because I haven’t been sewing, but because nothing has actually made it across the finish line. 😂 My sewing room is currently overflowing with works in progress.

But this one? This one was worth the wait.

This is my second Cosy Cottage Tote, and I decided to go all out. I used the new Freaky Familiars charm pack from ★ RUBY STAR SOCIETY ★ and then completely busted apart an old Ruby Star Society Halloween quilt kit to make the rest of it happen. Zero regrets.

I honestly can’t express how much I love this bag. Every little detail makes me happy. suggested adding a treat pocket, so of course I had to add one on the side. It’s the perfect little spot for a snack, candy, or whatever tiny treasure needs a home.

This bag is everything I love about sewing. A pattern that sparks creativity, fabrics that make me smile, and little custom details that make it feel completely my own.

A few weeks ago, I had the honor of giving my very first quilt guild lecture for the York Quilt Guild.
Preparing for my first guild lecture was both exciting and a little intimidating. Speaking to a room full of experienced quilters was a new experience for me, but as the evening went on, I settled in and truly enjoyed sharing my approach to bag making, along with ideas for incorporating quilt piecing into functional bags and accessories. I also brought a collection of samples for everyone to see up close.
I want to sincerely thank everyone at the York Quilt Guild for inviting me and for such a warm welcome. Your kindness, thoughtful questions, and genuine interest in my work meant more than you know. I truly appreciate the opportunity to share my passion with your guild, and I’ll always remember my first guild lecture with gratitude.
It was an experience I’ll always be grateful for, and I’m excited to see where this new adventure leads.

I just made the pattern Lunch Box Delight by knot.and.thread.designs . This pattern is a good one.

I used my beloved juice box fabric by Melody Miller (as it seemed appropriate for this bag) and I love how it turned out. The bag is actually a lot roomier than it looks. I can fit my water bottle inside with no problem. And of course, I had to add my favorite seagull label from Rachel 🧵 The Cosy Club Handmade 🪡 .

My daughter has already requested her own for back-to-school. Unfortunately, she’s an extremely demanding client with very specific opinions on fabric, zippers, and colors. I have a feeling this commission is going to require several design consultations. 😂

What do you do when you have a ton of WIPs?

Start a new one, obviously. 🤪

I couldn’t resist the colors in the Merry Happy fabric line, so I decided it was the perfect time to start a Christmas quilt… in June. Will it be finished in time to make it onto my bed this holiday season? Your guess is as good as mine. 😂

So far it’s been a really fun project, although there has been a lot of cutting. Anyone else already sewing for Christmas?

Have you been curious about English Paper Piecing but weren’t sure where to start? In the first session, Mayi, at Here & Now Crafts will teach you the basics of EPP and how to create a beautiful hexagon panel by hand. Then, in the second session at the Glue & Stitch Studio, I will help you turn that panel into a Pixie Sewing Case using your sewing machine.

It’s the perfect blend of slow stitching and bag making, and you’ll leave with new skills and a project you’ll actually use for your sewing supplies.
