It’s all about the ish. 💫 On this project, the inside joke with our clients became the ‘ish’ — those colors that dance between two shades. Periwinkle: a purplish blue. Dusty blush: a brownish pink. And honestly? The style followed suit — traditional-ish, modern-ish, hard to pin down exactly. Which is precisely the point. The best rooms live in the in-between — some of the most beautiful things are hard to name. They just feel right.

The days are getting longer, and your outdoor space deserves the same intention as every room inside. As the weather warms, it’s worth asking: how do you actually want to live out there?

Sculptural pieces like these — solid wood, considered lines, cozy cushions — dissolve the boundary between in and out. Outdoor living has never been more sophisticated, and there’s no reason your terrace or patio shouldn’t feel as curated as your living room.

Swipe to see the before.

Tailoring your space doesn’t mean ripping it down to the studs. You can keep the bones and elevate the rest with new color, finishes, and a clearer point of view. The home was already good. We just helped it become itself.

These Transition Mirrors by are so special. Each one is handcrafted with round glass, poured silver, and slivers of beautiful stones, gems, and shells. The name itself is a nod to silver’s classification as a “transition metal” — and the process is just as intentional: a silver nitrate solution is poured directly onto the glass, chemically bonding to the surface. That raw, organic edge where the silver meets the glass is a deliberate design choice.

For our Piedmont project, we placed it above the fireplace in the primary bedroom — and it felt like the perfect fit. It’s classic enough to feel at home above a traditional mantel, but unexpected. Much like the project itself.

I love how it masquerades as a mirror while also working as sculpture.

Honored to be featured in magazine’s “Layers of Meaning” by

“I’m always interested in the conversation between old and new, between classic and modern. It’s important to me that those contrasts feel intentional and lived-in rather than styled.”

This Oakland project holds a special place for me. Every room was a study in that tension — inviting and tailored, the storied and the polished, the inherited and the chosen.

Thank you for seeing it so clearly - what a beautiful piece! + +

Dining in an elegant corner of the woods. 🌿

Rich teal walls, a chandelier that mimics dappled raindrops, leafy printed curtains, walnut wood, cozy bouclé — every detail whispers nature, but make it a dinner party! This is the kind of room that sparks joy and inspires you every time you walk past it.

Spring cleaning checklist:
✔ clean everything
✔ wash the dogs
✔ consider moving into the laundry room full time…

We designed the interiors of this stunning Craftsman for the loveliest clients in Berkeley—but honestly, the dogs may have gotten the best room. 🐾

A nice surprise to see my work from an Atherton project featured in Livingetc () in a story on kitchen colors.

I love color and I love dark + moody colors!! Don’t be afraid of color even in small spaces.

Hygge.

That quiet exhale you feel when a space wraps around you.

I was looking at this corner from our Piedmont, CA project and realized — this is hygge in physical form.

Design:
Morning light filtering through linen.
Curves that soften the room.
Wool underfoot.
A living plant reaching toward the window.
A chair that feels like an embrace.

There’s a reason it feels good.

Neuroaesthetics tells us our brains are wired to respond to daylight, organic forms, texture, and connection to nature. When those elements come together, we settle.

On a cool morning, this is exactly where I’d land.
