A kitchen transformation inside a 196-year-old home in Middletown, New York.

Built in 1830, this historic home carried nearly two centuries of character — but the kitchen reflected a 1970s–80s renovation that no longer supported how the homeowners wanted to live and use the space.

The goal of this project was to respect the history of the home while creating a kitchen that feels functional, warm, and timeless for modern living.

Through thoughtful space planning, updated materials, and careful design decisions, the space was completely reimagined while still honoring the home’s story.
