After years of working on high-end hospitality projects around the world, I started Batten Court Design for you!!

For people who want a home that feels personal, polished, and truly livable, and for the hospitality clients who want to create places people remember, return to, and talk about.

Our clients come to us when they have a vision, but need help pulling all the pieces together.

So you’re building a custom home and you want it to feel timeless?

Start with what has staying power: Natural materials. Thoughtful proportions. Beautiful craftsmanship. The foundation should feel considered enough to outlast whatever happens to be trending.

Timeless spaces are not anonymous. Art, collected pieces, meaningful objects, and unexpected details keep a room from feeling overly polished or predictable.

Choose quality over quantity. Fewer, better pieces almost always make a stronger statement. Invest in what you will still want to live with years from now, then give it room to breathe.

These are a few watercolor sketches for our latest whole house furnishings projects: the Galerie House.

Our scope is to develop interior layouts, source all furnishings, textile and decor for a newly constructed home in Forest Creek.

Our clients want a home to support their lifestyle but also resonate with what they love. We curated their home to have artisanal whimsy, feels serene and warm but also durable for kids and dogs. Their primary bedroom has a nod to Chinese design since their last visit there was really inspiring to them. But the plum colors connects with the accents in the living room.

Who’s with me? This plus ☕️ = magic.

When I designed our own family home, the reason behind every decision was about how we wanted to feel and how we wanted to create moments and memories. The aesthetic was born from colors and proportions that felt calming, grounding…gorgeous one of a kind stone that would inspire every meal…and great lighting design to set whatever mood we want to set.

I’m happy every day and it was worth the time and effort. If you’re in the middle of a remodel or build, stick with it! It is a lot of decisions and if you don’t know what you’re looking for, it can be overwhelming.
