THANK YOU, PITTSBURG. ❤️
Putting on an outdoor event the size of Pittsburg ArtWalk takes months of planning, countless moving parts and many volunteer hours. Our volunteers give time away from families, jobs and businesses to make it happen.
And sometimes, it’s just plain HOT. 😅🔥
Yesterday was one of those days. Between the extreme heat, Homecoming, the Hispanic Music Festival, Festa Italiana, the PSU game and so much more happening, you had a lot of choices.
You still showed up!
A kid made something they’ll cherish. An artist made a first sale. Friends reconnected. Someone tried something new and someone else left inspired. Those moments are what ArtWalk is about.
A HUGE thank you to our ArtWalk Board & volunteers, PHS JAG students, Pittsburg Area Young Professionals, City of Pittsburg, Kansas , Explore Crawford County , Pittsburg Area Chamber of Commerce for the Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas Mural ribbon cutting, and everyone who helped plan, set up, problem-solve and tear down.
Thank you to our artists, community organizations, performers, musicians, and food & beverage vendors who make ArtWalk one of a kind. Special thanks to The Pitt for providing FREE cold water on such a hot day. ❤️
This year marks 20 YEARS of Pittsburg ArtWalk.
Roger made a point that stuck with us: There are 20-year-olds in Pittsburg who have never known their community without ArtWalk.
For their entire lives, downtown streets have become galleries. Musicians play on sidewalks. Artists put their work into the world. Kids make a mess, draw & paint in the streets. Being a little weird, unconventional or wildly creative isn’t just accepted—it’s celebrated.
Twenty years of that leaves an imprint.
ArtWalk brings people to the heart of Pittsburg, supports artistic commerce, gives emerging artists and musicians a place to begin, connects neighbors and fosters creativity.
Some ArtWalks are enormous, some smaller. Some have perfect weather—and some make us question outdoor events in Kansas. 😂🔥
But every ArtWalk matters.
Long after the tents come down, those individual experiences remain.
That is the legacy of Pittsburg ArtWalk—20 years of making space for art, creativity & each other.
Thank you for continuing to show up. ❤️
