We’re proud to share our latest creation — an end grain table top made entirely from authentic whiskey barrel staves.
 
This project was a lot of work, but also a lot of fun. Each stave carries a story — steeped in whiskey, and now reborn into a one-of-a-kind surface that blends rich history with timeless craftsmanship. The end grain pattern showcases the beauty of the wood’s natural character, creating a durable and visually striking centerpiece.

For the first time in quite a while, I used a light colored wood as the primary wood in a cutting board / cheese slicer set. I’m quite happy with how it turned out. This is primarily cherry, with padauk, maple, and walnut accents. With the exception of the padauk, all of the wood was locally harvested!

The best part of this set, it went to an auction to help raise money for Make-A-Wish. Feels good knowing our work can be part of something that makes a real difference.

This is my favorite board to date! I’ve wanted to make a board primarily out of purple heart, and this came out much better than I expected!

An end grain cutting board crafted from purple heart, black walnut, wenge, maple, and leopard wood. This combination gives a beautiful surface and one of the most striking edges I’ve seen!

It’s been a few months since I’ve been able to spend time in the shop—life has a way of shifting priorities, especially with a 16-month-old keeping things lively! But I’m finally wrapping up several projects and planning the next big one! Stay tuned over the next several days for additional updates.

To start things off, check out this noodle board. Made from black walnut, mahogany, and purple heart, it’s designed to sit atop the grates of a gas stove, adding extra workable surface space to your kitchen. Flip it over and you’ll find a recessed carving surface with a juice groove—perfect for prepping and serving meals with style and practicality.

It’s not too often that I keep one of my builds for myself, but this was a keeper. They say the longer the whiskey ages in the barrel, the more flavorful it will be. I’m not sure this is what they had in mind, but I’m going to give it a try.

The barrel is a used wine barrel and the shelves are made with barrel heads, each which is on a lazy susan so they may move independent of each other. The lighting system is set up so the lights automatically come on when the door is opened.
