Well… I think it finally happened!! The Progressive commercials are correct…we do turn into our parents! 🤭😂💕
Funny how age and life experiences change our perspective. The things we once overlooked become the things we treasure most. Growing up, I never really appreciated my mom’s style, her wisdom, her quirks, her simple beauty, her soft voice and contagious laugh, the smell of her Angel perfume, the way she carried herself, the way she wanted me to carry myself with confidence, the way she wanted me to treat others, even when they didn’t treat us the same way, and the special way she treated others even if they were as****es. ☺️
I often think about how she managed to be so effortlessly cool before it was cool. Even her matching jogger sets she would wear to go on her ‘fast’ walks that I would always tease her about became cool!!! I’m proud to say that my matching jogger sets are my now favorite outfits to wear!! She’s smiling from heaven💕💕🤗🤗
I wish so much she was still here and one question I would need to ask her: What in the hell were your thoughts behind my mushroom-like a haircut where a bowl, YES 👏 AN 👏 ACTUAL 👏 BOWL 👏 was put on top of my head and cut around by Mr. Pat in Kingston 🙄 (NOT COOL!!), big maroon glasses 🤓 , and the ugly sweaters with the huge Ralph Lauren bears on them…🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I have always loved this picture of my mom. I love her classy style, her young spirit, I can feel her energy in this picture, and I admired her coat!! 😍 I have searched for a vintage coat like hers for awhile! I finally found one that I absolutely loved at an estate sale for $10!!! 🙌 That’s highway robbery for a vintage, suede coat like this!!!! It’s like she knew I needed this jacket, and she guided me there! A Godwink ✨💕
I want to give the biggest shout out to Crest Cleaners on Luzerne Ave in West Pittston for restoring this beautiful jacket for me!! 🏆 Not only was the owner super friendly, but he took extra special care of this coat for me and he will do the same with anything you bring to Crest Cleaners! 🫧
Today would’ve been my mom’s 76th birthday. She’s been gone for many years, but moments like this remind me she’s still here in little ways… in me and my children, in memories, in stories, and apparently in my wardrobe. ❤️🙏
Happy Birthday, Mom. I finally get it. ❤️
