One of my favorite projects just finally got pics — such a good example of how you don’t need a massive amount of square footage to create a space that does it all. 🤍🌴
We started with an almost completely blank slate (the flooring had already been selected), and my clients had one big request: they wanted this space to feel completely different from the rest of their home.
They love a calm, coastal home, but they also love their trips to Key West and wanted to bring some of that relaxed, colorful, slightly unexpected island feel into this room. Basically, permission to have a little more fun — which I was VERY happy about. 🌴
From the beginning, I knew I wanted the small landing corner to become more than just a place to stick a desk. We turned it into a mini library + workspace, with room for files, a printer and a spot to pop open a laptop when needed.
Even better, it created a visual separation between the two areas. They feel like two distinct spaces while still reading as one cohesive, open room — instead of a workspace that felt like an afterthought.
And somehow, we fit A LOT into this footprint:
✨ A cozy library/workspace
✨ Large cabinets for hidden storage
✨ TV
✨ Sink
✨ Kegerator
✨ Wine fridge
✨ shuffleboard table
✨ Cloud RH couch
✨ And plenty of room to actually hang out, room to mingle a little and enjoy it all
There were definitely moments during the planning process when I wondered, Can we really fit everything they want in here AND make it look good! Turns out — yes. 🙌🏼
So many custom details went into making this room work, and that’s probably my favorite part of the finished space. It feels fun and collected, but every inch has a purpose.
A little coastal calm, a little Key West, and a whole lot of personality. 🌊🌴
