Hello! I am a ceramic artist in Portland Oregon and am a self-taught artist. I always had a deep desire to express and make with my hands so I construct with clay by pinching, building with slab, or sculpting where each functional or nonfunctional piece embodies irregularity and warmth.

Tides of Tranquility table lamp with wrapped cord lampshade.

TT is a collection of simple, sculptural porcelain forms inlaid with colored lines using the Mishima technique. The intersecting lines trace organic paths across each form, evoking elongated human silhouettes, tidal currents, and the flow of water. Together they speak to the way our lives move through and around one another, crossing in brief, often unnoticed moments that can quietly alter our course. This series invites the viewer to pause and consider the unseen connections that shape our lives.

Tides of Tranquility wall pieces

Originally, created as wall sculpture that can be grouped together or hung individually but realized they can also be illuminated. These are my first three made and already sold which is more than encouraging. I will be making more, exploring casting these shapes for better thickness consistency, color combinations, and connecting them together.

Introducing the latest addition to my Hanging Fleurette’s Series, Poppy. As the dark, dreary winter slowly lifted and the sun began to hang out a little longer, I was feeling a sense of refresh. I kept seeing this color, a peachy coral. A color which made me feel happy which lead me to think how happy I get when I see big, bold or small bright poppy flowers. This series isn’t necessarily about mimicking flowers as we see them but about capturing their essence using form, materials and color.

This color is now leading me to think about summer, orange sherbet and creamsicles!

My work will be shown with 14 other amazing artists gallery at the Expo Center this Friday Feb 27 through Sunday Mar 1 for the annual Home and Garden Show .
